Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Installer to take charge of on-site installation teams. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the installation of Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS), Temporary Vehicle Restraint Systems (TVRS), parapets, and general fencing. You will ensure work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards while coordinating with project managers and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the rest of the team during construction on site.

• Overseeing the installation of VRS, TVRS, parapets, and general fencing to project specifications.

• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, project plans, and site instructions.

• Conducting site safety briefings and toolbox talks.

• Monitoring and enforcing Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

• Liaising with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.

• Training and mentoring less experienced team members.

• Assisting in emergency response situations, including urgent repairs to damaged barriers or fencing.

• Keeping accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered.

Requirements

• Proven experience in highways, fencing, or construction installation.

• CSCS/FISS card with a level 2 diploma as Minimum(essential).

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) (preferred but not essential).

• Full UK driving licence (essential, HGV/LGV licence advantageous).

• NPORS/CPCS certification (preferred but not essential).

• Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and experience enforcing them on-site.

• Ability to lead and motivate a team to meet deadlines and quality standards.

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Willingness to travel and stay away as projects may require work across the UK.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
